Programs & Services

Our programs are the heart of our mission, where we aim to provide our clients with the opportunity to maximize their independence and to advocate for their choices. We have various programs for individuals with varied ranges of intellectual disabilities.

MERCI believes that every person, regardless of their level of disability, is capable of becoming an active participant in their community. Feel free to call us at (626) 289-8817 if you have any questions about which program is best for your loved one.

DISCOVERY Program

The DISCOVERY Program provides services to developmentally disabled individuals with medically fragile conditions and/or behavioral challenges that prevent them from attending day programs. This allows consumers to access services that were previously unavailable to them. Consumers benefit from one-to-one interaction and an individualized plan developed to their specific needs. Services may include independent living skills, self-care skills, and sensory stimulation, range of motion therapy, as well as socialization and recreation.

Developmental Day Center

MERCI's Developmental Day Center works to instill essential skills in the areas of self-care/grooming, socialization, recreation, pre-vocational/vocational training as well as independent living skills. Under the umbrella of "independent living skills" , consumers are instructed in basic self-care skills, positive interaction, health and safety issues as well as shopping and leisure time activities. Consumers are taken on frequent outings into the community to help reinforce these skills.
